Understanding a Visit to a Provider

A Visit to a Provider refers to the process by which a patient seeks medical care at one of our networked healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and emergency services. At Eden Care, we have developed a web-based Service Provider Portal that simplifies the initiation and management of these visits, ensuring a seamless and efficient healthcare experience. Here's how a Visit to a Provider works:

  1. Initiation of the Visit: When a patient arrives at a healthcare facility within our network, the provider's staff initiates a Visit on our Service Provider Portal. They start by entering the patient's member number or NIDA (National Identification Number) into the portal. This triggers the generation of a One-Time Password (OTP) that is sent to the patient's mobile phone.

  2. OTP Verification: The patient receives the OTP on their phone and shares it with the provider's staff. The staff enters the OTP into the Service Provider Portal to verify the patient's identity and ensure secure access to the patient's information.

  3. Visit Creation: Once the OTP is entered, the provider's staff selects the type of visit (e.g., inpatient, outpatient, dental, optical or wellness) from the options available in the portal. With this information, a Visit is created for the patient within the system.

  4. Access to Patient Benefits: After the Visit is created, the provider's staff gains access to the patient's benefits information through the Service Provider Portal. They can view details about the patient's insurance plan, coverage limits, co-payments, and any specific terms or conditions. This helps the staff make informed decisions about treatment options and ensures efficient utilization of the patient's benefits.

  5. Actionable Functions: The Service Provider Portal offers a range of functions that enable the provider's staff to take necessary actions during the patient's Visit. These actions may include requesting pre-authorizations for medical procedures, submitting claims for reimbursement, generating digital prescriptions, and accessing patient medical records. These features enhance efficiency, accuracy, and communication within the healthcare process.
